Today the children used this photo as a writing prompt. We were focussing on descriptive language and letting our imaginations run wild. This a couple of the pieces of writing they worked very hard on!

Mutant Gumballs - NH

I recoiled in horror as I came upon this disgusting yellow monstrosity. It looked like a mutant gumball! Now I was so close to it, I fainted in horror as I touched it. When I woke up, I was in the Land of MUTANT GUMBALLS!! It's such a  HORRIBLE sight! I looked around in this disgusting world. I think I nearly spewed all over the place. I looked at myself in a shiny bit of one of the mutant gumballs, but I came at the wrong time - it turned to look at me. I stood in horror as it stared at me whilst licking its big, black slimy lips. I tried to run away but I was too slow. It bit my leg with yellow and black pointy seeds as its teeth. It pulled me back and gulped me whole. I woke up and realised it was all a dream, but just to be sure, I had to see my lemon tree.
